This looks darling! I’d love to win! I think everyone at the office would like to have something like this – what a great Christmas goodie idea! Thanks. Oh, and my Christmas story? I’d just started a new job – only been there a week at the most. I attended the office Christmas party and was asked to present the company gift to the owners. Egads, I hardly knew anyone’s name yet! But that was one heck of a way to “meet” the owners. “Hello, I’m Barbara. And here is your great big gift!”
My favorite thing about our family tree is that the ornaments don’t match. I have ornaments given to me by my piano teacher 35 years ago. And ornaments from around the world, brought home by my globe-trotting gramma. But one ornament I DON’T have is one with my company logo on it. What a fantastic idea.
We’re facebook friends!
And twitter friends, too!
The worst office Christmas party ever was when our general manager decided not only to invite the Board of Directors but that we’d be having dinner at the office. Instead of the only time of the year that all employees were on an even footing, it ended up a sexist disaster. The women prepared the table, arranged the food (that was catered) and served throughout the meal. The Chairman of the board was breaking up with his wife, had gotten tipsy and started telling ‘jokes’, including the story about how when he was an International Umpire he’d get wined and dined before a match and women were sent up to his room (more detail than I will give here). No one felt they could stop him and when I finally walked out was upbraided later for not staying around to clean up

I received an old, ugly, glittery bowling ball at last year’s office party. Yup…white elephant!
It has sat in my office closet ever since, but I am going to continue the tradition by giving it to somebody at this year’s party!

I love snowmen! Well, at my workplace, every year we take a half day from work, all load up on buses, and we go shopping at Walmart for two or three local children’s centers. The whole company loads up on to buses, we unload at Walmart and we shop like crazy, never sticking to our budget. Then the cash registers check us out, wrap up our gifts with our children’s nametags, and we load them on to the trucks outside for delivery to the centers. It’s the best way to celebrate Christmas and it’s one of the favorite things I love about working where I do. It’s the season for giving, and we do it the best we can.

My christmas tree is unique because it has decorations that have been hand made over the years by customers, or given to me
by friends.
